The Telangana Traffic Police Department had been beefing up the traffic rules more strictly in case of two wheelers. Vehicles being utilised with broken number plates or concealed number has become a new manipulative trick for the traffic violators.
The amount of wrong-e challans have spiked over immeasurably in the last two months. To escape challans, the vehicular violators are continually tampering the number plates causing more confusion to the traffic police. Reportedly, due to tampering of few manipulative people, it has become a hell for genuine riders as they are receiving a challan from the traffic police for no fault.
Traffic police are now being more vigilant as a hawk eye in busy areas like Kukatpally, Himayatnagar, Punjagutta, Ameerpet etc.
Hyderabad’s IPS Anjani Kumar on Friday stated in a press conference that innumerable offenders are tampering with the vehicle number plates by using wrong number plates, fanciful designs to cover the number or making one number invisible with stickers etc. He gave strict warning to such people as it violates the law as per the motor act.
“Improper number plates is an offence and we would even file a FIR against such criminals.
Font size, width and placement of the numbers etc is given in detail as per the motor act. I insist every one to follow it”, he asserted.
In 2020, 64,207 violation cases have been booked till May 31st while 1,15,000 cases were booked in 2019.
