A 38 year old NRI in North Carolina named G Vanitha, who is originally from Hyderabad, committed suicide. The reason for her suicide is said to be the harassment she was facing from her husband Shiva Kumar and her in-laws. Vanitha’s parents filed harassment case on Shiva Kumar and his family in LB Nagar Police Station.
This is not the first time a harassment case has been filed on an NRI and his family. Shiva Kumar has been taken into custody and the body of Vanitha will reach India tomorrow. Speaking on this case, Police officials mentioned that the couple has been having few issues and Vanitha came back to India to stay with her parents. In July, Vanitha went back to the USA to stay with her husband.
As the harassment didn’t get reduced, Vanitha is stated to have committed suicide. Parents of Vanitha mentioned that her daughter didn’t contact them in the last 2 months. Vanitha and Shiva Kumar have been married for 15 years.
