Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy chaired the first meeting of the Telangana Sports Hub Board of Governors today. The meeting was attended by legendary sportspersons Kapil Dev, Pullela Gopichand, Abhinav Bindra, along with entrepreneur Upasana Konidela and other key members.
The discussions mainly focused on Hyderabad’s ambitious bid to host the Olympics in 2036. Leaders and sports icons shared ideas to strengthen Hyderabad as a global sports destination. The city already has a proud history of hosting major international and national sporting events, including the National Games in 2002, Afro Asian Games in 2003, and Military World Games in 2007.
The Telangana government wants to build on this track record by creating world-class infrastructure, training facilities, and sports hubs. The vision is to make Hyderabad a major center for international sports and to inspire young athletes across the country.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy assured complete support to make Telangana Sports Hub a success. He emphasized that Hyderabad has the talent, experience, and energy to aim big and bring the Olympics to India.
This meeting marks the beginning of a new journey for Telangana sports, with strong participation from legendary champions and leaders. The Sports Hub is expected to play a key role in transforming Hyderabad into a global sports capital and boosting India’s chances for Olympics 2036.
