Even though Congress is strong in Huzurnagar constituency and Uttam Kumar Reddy has occupied the seat for long, as his wife is contesting in the by-election this time, TRS was of the hope that it could win the by-election, that is scheduled to be held today.
Telangana Chief Minister KCR, who never bothered to campaign for the small elections, had decided to campaign in Huzurnagar. However, he later dropped his plan, due to the unfavorable weather conditions.
Adding to it, there has been a severe negativity on the state government among the public, due to its uncompromising nature on the TSRTC employees. The non-availability of buses for good number of days, has made KCR earn the curse of public and it is expected to show a negative impact on Huzurnagar by-election.

If at all TRS, which is expected to give a tough competition, loses in Huzurnagar, then it is a clear indication that the ruling party is also going to face the similar heat of the public, in the 2023 general elections too. If that happens, it would be a major humiliation for a party like TRS, who rose to power, after the vigorous fight for the separate statehood of Telangana.
