The Dubbaka by-poll is such a shocker to the Telangana Rashtra Samiti cadre and KCR is really baffled at the end of the counting day. However, KTR regained his confidence and said that they have to re-group and discuss in close about the poll defeat.
There are some obvious factors that worked in favour of BJP at the last minute. The saffron party successfully developed unrest among the youth in the Dubbaka Constituency and few youth wings from all parts of the state that belong to BJP did campaign extensively in Dubbaka Pre-poll period. BJP was successful in convincing the youth that the TRS is not listing out job notifications regularly and there is unrest among the unemployed.
On the other side, here comes an interesting revelation where the MIM, KCR’s closest ally, helped BJP big time in Dubbaka. The Hyderabad based party led by Owaisi brothers did not support any one and stayed neutral as they have some crucial links why both the big heads at state and the centre. Now, the question is whether they did stay loyal to their neutral stand?
Dubbak has close to 9000 minority voters and the TRS is wondering where did these votes go? When dug deep, there comes the crucial information that the Owaisi brothers have close relations with the Dubbaka BJP candidate Raghunandan Rao. When one of the Owaisi brothers was arrested and put in Sangareddy jail a few years back, Raghunandan who is an advocate by profession took up the case of Owaisis and the party sources say that build a good rapport between them.
On the other side, the ruling party was quite confident about the minority votes going their way while on the other side, MIM staying neutral might’ve made the minorities think about voting TRS twice. On the contrary, they voted freely without anyone’s influence or word. BJP cashed this opportunity and managed to win the votes of minorities and eventually won the by-poll.
