The whole world is waiting for the COVID vaccine and already few formulations are available in the market. Many countries are already actively experimenting with the corona vaccine. Clinical trials are ongoing in most countries. Corona vaccine trials are underway in Australia as well.
The CLL pharmaceutical company from the University of Queensland in Australia is jointly developing a vaccine. Clinical trials for this vaccine are currently underway. However, some people who have been vaccinated have been diagnosed with HIV. With that, the trials were stopped immediately.
For the record, the vaccine, developed by Australian companies, was initially effective. In fact, the first and second phase trials were a big success. But side effects were seen in the final trials.
This is what Australian scientists have to say on this subject – ‘The vaccine we made works well. The antibodies produced by this vaccine fight the coronavirus. However, some patients have been found to be HIV positive. In fact, these people do not get HIV from our vaccine. But shows positive when tested for HIV.”
So, it is clear that no person who was given this vaccine were infected with the HIV virus but somehow they have been shown HIV positive in the tests conducted after its administration. This means the antibodies produced by this vaccine interfere with HIV testing. That’s why this glitch made the trials to be discontinued temporarily.
They volunteers are guaranteed of no trouble but the trials were stopped though. More research is being done on this subject. Australia, on the other hand, has entered into agreements with other countries for the distribution of the vaccine. The government says it will import and distribute the vaccine to people from other countries, even if the domestic vaccine is not available.
