The High Court of Andhra Pradesh had issued a Status Quo notice on the shift of Capital to Visakhapatnam in August, and the initial date of the hearing of this petition was on August 14th. However, that didn’t happen, and the Status Quo was postponed on the shifting of the Capital.
With the postponement of the Status Quo, Chief Minister Jagan’s wish of operating from Visakhapatnam from August 15th was greatly hindered. The Status Quo on Capital Shifting was postponed several times until now, and today, in yet another hearing, the Status Quo has once again been postponed.
The next hearing on the 3 Capital Bills and the CRDA repeal bill will take place in the High Court of Andhra Pradesh on October 9th. The High Court has also ordered for the complete details on the sessions and discussions that took place in January, and requested for these details to be submitted to the HC in a sealed cover by October 9th.
The High Court will also be discussing various other aspects along with the Shifting of the Capital, 3 Capital bill and CRDA repeal bill. With the HC being the only place that is giving some sort of hopes to the farmers of Amaravati, everyone is waiting with bated to see if the Judiciary will finally serve justice to the sacrifice they have done, by giving away their precious and valuable lands.
