TRS Minister T Harish Rao has tested positive for Coronavirus, and confirmed the same on his Twitter account, earlier this day. He stated that he got himself tested after noticing initial symptoms, and said that he was feeling fine despite testing positive. He urged everyone who came in contact with him in the last one week, to get themselves tested for the virus.
This is not the first time that a TRS member has tested positive for Coronavirus, 10 members, including MLAs have tested positive already. The list includes Assembly deputy speaker T Padma Rao, Home Minister Mahamood Ali, MLAs Muthireddy Yadagir Reddy, Bajireddy Govardhan and several other members of teh TRS.
Telangana State General Assembly sessions are to begin from September 7th, meaning that Harish Rao wouldn’t be able to attend these sessions. With even Harish Rao testing positive for the virus, the precautions have been doubled for those who have to attend the assembly sessions.
Everyone attending the sessions is expected to be tested for the virus by September 6th, and thermal screening and rapid tests will also be conducted around the Assembly premises daily. Additionally, two separate diagnostic centers are also being set up for MLAs and council members, in case of emergency. Masks, oximeters and sanitisers would be provided to everyone in general, as part of the standard precautionary procedure.
