Hey Sinamika starring Dulquer Salmaan, Aditi Rao Hydari and Kajal Aggarwal in the lead roles has hit the screens today. Let’s check how it is.
Story:
Aryan( Dulquer Salmaan) falls for Mona( Aditi Rao Hydari) at the very first sight and proposes for a marriage. Impressed with Aryan’s charm, Mona immediately agrees to marry Aryan. After leading a happy life for two years, Mona gets irritated with Aryan’s over possessive attitude and decides to stay away from him. In the process, Mona approaches Malarvi( Kajal Aggarwal), a physiotherapist to recuce her. How will Malarvi help Mona regarding her relationship with Aryan, forms the crucial crux of the film.
On-screen performances:
As usual, Dulquer Salmaan impresses with his cool attitude. His settled acting as a lovable husband adds realistic texture to the film proceedings.
Aditi Rao Hydari is adorable on screen and her chemistry with Dulquer is showcased in a beautiful manner. Her performance as an independent working women is good and explores the content nicely. The relationship scenes between Dulquer and Aditi Rao are executed in a decent manner.
Kajal Aggarwal is decent in her given key role as a physiotherapist but her character is left abruptly towards the end. But sadly, looks-wise, Kajal lost her previous charm as her look is a bit odd.
Off-screen talents:
Music by Govind Vasantha is good as his songs are passable on screen. His background music is apt for the film genre.
Cinematography work by Preetha Jayaraman is good as she showcased the entire film nicely. Editing by Radha Sridhar is adequate. Production values for this limited budget movie are okay.
Coming to the direction, Brindha Gopal’s idea of exploring the relationship between husband and wife is good but her narrative has cliches. Instead of slow-paced narration, she would have gone for a racy proceedings to bring authentic flavour for the film.
Positive Points:
- Performances
- Music
Negative Points:
- No proper screenplay and narration
- Dull execution
Verdict:
In an overview, Hey Sinamika is a family drama that explores the relationship issues between husband and wife. Though the performances by the lead actors are good, dull execution makes the film a disappointing watch during this weekend.
