Yet again, the YSRCP supremo and the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh has come up with a new concept and this time it is ‘family doctor’. To make the services of the health care sectors more accessible to the rural areas, YS Jagan took this decision.
Under this new concept, a doctor should vist the village or villages that are assigned to him twice a month. he should go to the needy villagers and check on them so that they should not feel lack of medical facility in the rural areas. Jagan suggested that each mandal headquarters will have at least two primary health centres and each PHC will have at least two doctors.
The 104 services, Aarogyamitra and Aasha workers will accompany the doctors and a village clinic will be well-maintained so that the patients will visit the doctor so that the doctor will have knowledge on what health problems the villagers are facing and their needs as well.
At the same time, the doctors should record the health condition of every patient in the health card provided to him from time to time so that it would be easy for the bigger hospitals to assess the condition of the patients when they were referred for better treatment.
