Victory Venkatesh, Akkineni Naga Chaitanya, Rashi Khanna, Payal Rajput starrer Venky Mama has performed brilliantly in its first weekend. The film has raked in about 18 crores from Telugu States alone, while worldwide collections might touch 20 crores.
However there is no official confirmation regarding US collections of Venky Mama. US collections for any film contains transparency as there is official tracking for every movie. Formerly Rentrack, now ComScore, it is the agency which tracks the collections of movies.
Our trade analysts depend on Com Score for US collections of any Telugu movie. While one cannot fake the collections there, official numbers sometimes are a bit shocking for biggies too.
Now, it looks like, the trend is going to change. Producer Suresh Babu insisted the US distributor to disable this official tracking. So ComScore cannot officially track the collections which in turn means that we cannot know the official numbers of the film.
If this policy is followed for every movie here on, it is sure that this will encourage fake propaganda more. Why Suresh Babu has opted for this system is not known at this moment.
Of late, Telugu movies in Overseas are not performing up to the mark. They are bringing out huge losses to the distributors.
