The Telangana high court on Monday expressed disappointment over the KCR government for its response to PIL petitions related to Covid-19.
Calling the government “wishy-washy”, the high court bench comprising chief justice Hima Kohli and justice Vijayasen Reddy criticised if the State was competing for the position of Coronavirus topper in India.
The bench was unhappy with the affidavit by the state, as it does not contain any of the details like measures to check crowds in cinema halls and other public places.
“It was a desperate situation and required desperate action by the State,” Chief Justice Kohli said.
The bench asked specific circulars to monitor footfall at movie theatres, malls, and public places amid increasing virus cases in the state. Reports also revealed that Justice Reddy asked Advocate General B.S Prasad that if the state government had any difficulty in limiting the number of people flocking pubs and bars.
