Mangalagiri MLA Aalla Ramakrishna Reddy has made some seriously shocking statements very recently, saying that Amaravati is not fit to be the capital of Andhra Pradesh.
He said that the entire constituency of Magalagiri is a low lying area, and that all the towns and villages in that constituency are doomed to drown when subjected to heavy rainfall.
Aalla even said that the Sivaramakrishnan committee had also said that Amaravati is not fit to be the Capital of Andhra Pradesh. However, the reality of the matter is that it was the Sivaramakrishnan Committee which had said that the Capital should lie in between Guntur and Vijayawada, in the first place.
Furthermore, Aalla even said that Chandrababu Naidu had decided upon Amaravati as the capital so that he could indulge in a great deal of corruption.
Aalla even questioned what the farmers were wailing about, when Amaravati continues to be the Legislative Capital and when the Chief Minister’s residence is in Amaravati itself.
What is surprising to many political leaders is the fact that Aalla has decided to pass certification on whether or not Amaravati is fit to be the Capital of AP now, without speaking a word previously.
When Amaravati was announced as a capital initially, Aalla was the MLA of Mangalagiri, but said nothing. Even during last year’s election campaign, Aalla said that Jagan promised to keep Amaravati as the capital, and reassured the people of it. With Aalla now making such controversial statements, everyone has become speechless.
