The trailer of Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl has been released finally today. The premise is based on the story of a first Indian female Air Force pilot in combat. Janhvi Kapoor portrays the character of an independent woman looking to strongly carve a niche for herself in the male dominated world and aims to rule the skies by staying grounded.
The trailer gives excerpts about the unflinching determination of a girl aspiring to become a pilot in the Air Force and her struggle with fellow mates who are male. It also give short glimpse of the sorry state of the new situation during the time when a female pilot was on board unlike never before.
However, the girl’s father supports her dream and trusts her hard work. The narrative is set in the back drop of Udhampur, where a major milestone in the history of pilots is marked when Gunjan finally becomes the first female pilot to go to Kargil war.
The scene when Jahnavi has to utter fire has missed the real fire in her. The supporting cast Manav Vij, Pankaj Tripathi and Vineet kumar was although good seem to still fail to motivate us. Looks like the film might end up in a damp squib as Jahnavi’s role could have been more intense. Surprisingly Netflix has no where mentioned Karan Johar who produced the film under Dharma productions. This inspiring tale is soon to take off on August 12th 2020.
