During the national lockdown, the shutters of all shops were closed including the wine shops for which many of the youth and middle-aged persons in our country carve for.
For the people who drink alcohol daily, its unavailability would arise suicidal tendencies and six people took their lives in our country as they don’t have any alcohol to drink.
Four in Karnataka committed suicide as they couldn’t cope with life without alcohol and two others in Kerala also did the same. So, there was a news that circulated among all the social media platforms that the liquor will be available in Telangana on Sunday that made many drinkers happy.
But the excise departments of two Telugu states immediately ruled out those rumors and made it clear that no wine shops will be opened during the lockdown period.
On the other side, the two suicides in Kerala moved the government to take a sensational decision as CM Pinarayi Vijayan directed the excise department to issue the liquor for those who possess the doctor’s prescription.
Along with that, if anyone wants to utilize this lockdown and are ready for an operation that restricts them from drinking permanently will get operated free of cost.
Chief Minister of Kerala also directed the officials to join all the people who are willing to quit this habit in rehabitualisation centers.
