Employment for the poor has been halted due to the corona effect and lockdown. Those who work for their daily wages are in hardships, hence the government of Telangana decided to fund Rs. 1500.
Every family with a white ration card will be given Rs.1500 and the money will be deposited in eligible accounts on Tuesday, the minister said via Twitter. More than 74 lakh accounts will be deposited in Telangana, the minister said. The government has transferred a total of Rs 1,112 crore to banks.
The money transfer process began on Monday and the government deposited the funds in the State Bank of India account. From there, through (National Payment Corporation of India) Aadhaar Payment Bridge system, the money is credited to the beneficiary accounts.
On the occasion of Ambedkar’s Jayanthi, Tuesday was declared as a holiday for the banks and the depositing will continue from Wednesday. In case any individual whose bank accounts have ATM cards and received an SMS alert, they can withdraw the money without any hassle.
Due to corona pandemic and economic fallout, CM KCR has announced that Rs 1500 would be distributed to every white ration card holder. The government collected the white ration card details and examined every individual bank accounts.
The eligibility for the funding is based on certain criteria, the white ration card holder should have a bank account or Incase the account details are unavailable, the bank details of any of the family member should be provided.
Any poor person who has a ration card linked with Aadhar yet doesn’t have a bank account number are still eligible, nevertheless they are given in the second round of funding.
