Good news for central government pensioners in the troubled times from the ministry. The Center has decided to extend the deadline for submission of life certificates to be submitted by the end of November till the end of this year.
Union Minister Jitendra Singh issued a statement to this effect. Dr Jitendra Singh said that in a major relief to elderly persons, Government has relaxed the existing timeline for submission of Life Certificate.
All Central Government beneficiaries can submit Life Certificate from first November, 2020 to 31st December 2020. Previously it used to be just for the period of November for keeping up progression of Pension.
Nonetheless, in view of pandemic, the retired people in the age group of 80 years or more, can submit Life Certificate between first October, 2020 to 31st December, 2020. During this all-inclusive period, he assured that there won’t be any delays in the annuity being paid by the Pension Disbursing Authorities (PDAs).
Minister Jitendra Singh instructed the banks to identify the pensioners through an alternate method of video-based identification call (VIP) and directed the authorities to pay their pension on time.
He urged them to explore the said procedure for obtaining a Life Certificate from the pensioner, to avoid rush at the banks.
