Reportedly, today the chief of India’s drug controller general of India addressed a press conference along with the state officials at 11 a.m. This occurred subsequent to the concerns raised by experts to recommend the Oxford-AstraZeneca and Bharat Biotech vaccines ‘Covishield’ and ‘Covaxin’ against the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) for emergency use in the country.
Covishield is being produced in bulk by Serum institute of India (SII). Wherein Covaxin is the indigenous vaccine being manufactured by Bharat Biotech jointly with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
The suggestions by the SEC have been delivered to DCGI VG Somani, who heads Central Drugs Standards and Control Organisation (CDSCO). Subsequently, the watch dog announced officially that despite the last trial is ongoing, It showed promising results after analysing huge data. He also said that India is hopeful that it would curb the new covid strain.
