It is well known that Government instructed schools to carry out e- learning method temporarily. However, many parents of the pupil shared their concerns, where students are being evicted. One classic case that shook the state is of actor Shiva Balaji’s children who were suspended from digital learning due to an issue in fee payment. Many such instances have been occuring and kept under wraps.
With regards to this sorry state of affairs, to aid the student community during the troubled circumstances, the GMR Varalakshmi Foundation (GMRVF), which is a CSR arm of the GMR group has facilitated teaching and learning in both online and offline methods to government school students in Hyderabad.
It is learnt that online classes for 10th class students commenced in a few government schools from villages around the Hyderabad International Airport. GMRF Vidya volunteers have been hired to mentor young minds with the offline mode via Study Circle program for lower classes.
R. Mahalakshmi, a student at one of the government schools at Mamidipally, shared, “I am studying 10th class in Govt. High School, Mamidipally. I thank GMR Varalakshmi Foundation for showing us the new way of learning through CG slate app. As the app shows what is right and what is wrong we are able to correct ourselves. Also, the Vidya Volunteers are very helpful in clearing our doubts”.
GMRVF, Hyderabad is also extending support to students of 1st to 8th classes by conducting study circle classes from July 2020 onwards.
