Gautam Adani, founder and chairman of Adani Group on Wednesday replaced Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) chairman Mukesh Ambani to become Asia’s richest person.
According to the reports, Adani’s net worth grew drastically since April 2020. On 18 March 2020, his net worth was USD 4.91 billion.
In the last 20 months, the net worth of the 59-year-old saw a spike of over 1808% i.e., a whopping USD 83.89 billion. Meanwhile, Mukesh Ambani’s net worth increased by 250% i.e., USD 54.7 billion.
Adani’s wealth has grown by $55 billion (approximately Rs 4.12 lakh crore / over Rs 1000 crore per day) over the past year alone.
The total market value of the Adani Group companies reached Rs 10 lakh crore, while the market value of RIL touched Rs 14.91 lakh crore. Thus, RIL is the most valuable company in the country. But compared to Mukesh’s stake in RIL, Adani has a larger promoter share in its group companies, making him extremely wealthy.
