The Telugu Desam Party which is in a power-deprived state at the moment is arguably on the verge of the collapse politically. One after the other they have been losing grip in majority parts of Andhra Pradesh. Now, the situation in the Kurnool district looks very grim for the TDP as there is no known leader ready to repair the party by taking utmost responsibility.
Looking at the present state of the party, one can say that no Phoenix is going to rise from the ashes for the people in Yellow in the near future. Coming to Kurnool district, many leaders have already quit politics and some are busy with their businesses. While few others didn’t even care about Chandra Babu Naidu’s instructions, the remaining are reportedly conspiring with the YSRCP leaders.
TG Bharath is the party in-charge of TDP in Kurnool city. He contested from Kurnool in the last elections and lost. However he continues to be in charge of the party. However, his father, MP TG Venkatesh, is in the BJP. And is very busy with his business issues. Meanwhile, Gauru Charita Reddy, joined the YCP in the last elections from Panyam.
Comments are heard that many people are thinking of changing the party as those leaders who care about them locally are inactive and the expected positions in the party are not being achieved by some. Meanwhile, former minister Bhuma Akhil Priya’s situation seems to be mired in personal controversy. She is ready for conflicts with her own party leaders and there are some attempt to murder allegations on her husband as well.
On the other side, even though former Deputy CM KE Krishnamurthy has been given a post in the party recently, he is not involved in any of the party activities. Now, Krishnamurthy’s son, Shyambabu who lost in the last election has been dormant. Meanwhile, the family of former minister Kotla Jayasurya Prakash Reddy also joined the TDP and won MP and MLA tickets in the last elections but lost in Polls.
At present the loyal TDP cadre in the Kurnool district are clueless about their situation. They are very much worried about the plight of the party that has a glorious history so far disregarding some ebbs and flows and are desperate for a leader who sticks all the broken pieces. The only question is, who is that leader and how long they can hope?
