Former Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) director Ranjit Sinha, 68, has died. His family members said he passed away at his residence in Delhi on Friday morning.
However, Ranjit Sinha has been diagnosed with corona positive and he is in isolation at his residence.
Ranjit Sinha, a 1974 batch IPS officer, belongs to the Bihar cadre. Ranjit Sinha, who was selected for the National Service at the age of 21, took over as CBI Director in 2012. Prior to that, he was the ITBP DJ and a senior official in the RPF.
Ranjit Sinha has also completed an MPhil from the Indian Institute of Public Administration. In addition, Ranjit Sinha has written articles for various magazines and journals on issues related to the police sector.
He received the Police Medal at the hands of the President for his services to the Police Department.
