A man in China has been infected with bird flu in the country’s eastern Jiangsu province. This is the first time in the world that the H10N1 strain has been detected in humans. The National Health Commission of China has identified a person infected with bird flu with H10N3 avian influenza. It explained that at present his health condition was stable and he was ready for discharge.
Chinese medics mentioned that the virus occasionally spreads from poultry to humans, the chances of it becoming an epidemic are very less. The National Health Commission said the H10N3 avian influenza virus was detected in the victim on May 28. However, they did not disclose how he contracted the virus.
Experts say that H10N3 is less pathogenic. There are several types of avian influenza in China. Some of these are rarely transmitted to humans. Especially those who work in poultry are more likely to be affected.
