Story
Sindhu(Vedhika) is a young woman who is in constant fear of someone following her. At the same time, she is also seen in a mental asylum waiting for her boyfriend Sampath. This constant fear of someone following her has a reason and it is related to her childhood. Where did Sampath go? What is the backstory? What issues does Sindhu have? That forms the story of Fear.
What about on-screen performances?
There are not many actors in Fear and that is the reason the entire focus is on one main character Vedhika who did well in her role.
She has got a lot of shades to portray and Vedhika tried her best to perform well. There are a few scenes where she did well like for example, all the scenes in the hospital were good.
Anish Kuruvilla was seen as a doctor and was good in the film. His entry makes things interesting in the climax of the film.
Pavitra Lokesh was seen as the heroine’s mother and she was quite good. The way she feels bad for her daughter’s problems is shown well by the actress.
The rest of the cast were good. The child actors played a key role and were showcased in different age groups and were nice in the film.
What about of-screen performances?
Fear is directed by Haritha Gogineni and she has done a decent job with the film. She had a good point in narrating her story and handled it well in the climax.
The production values of the film were decent as the visuals were just about okay. The camerawork was neat and nothing and showcased the tense setup well.
Though the film is under two hours, it feels a bit stretched as there is a single conflict point that is showcased in a manner that could have been avoided in a few scenes.
The emotions of the main cast and the reason behind the issues that the main character faces could have been elevated well by the director.
There was so much scope for drama and a lot of tension could have been created through Vedhika’s character but that was missed.
The climax of the film is good and the twist revealed was nice. If the same tempo would have been maintained from the beginning, the output would have been a lot better.
