After BJP appointed Fadnavis as the CM, Shiv Sena, Congress and NCP severely went against the decision and challenged it in court. The apex court then ordered for the floor test and asked the Lotus party to prove the majority.
But in a shocking move, both Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar dropped down from the CM and Deputy CM positions respectively, thus paving way for Shiv Sena. Uddhav Thackeray has then been chosen as the CM of Maharashtra unanimously by the three party combine.
