Prior to the release of Pawan Kalyan’s Vakeel Saab, the government of Andhra Pradesh passed a new GO, which restricts the ticket pricing slab. The ticket prices were capped at unusually low prices which meant that theatre managements had to sustain a whole lot of financial burden.
Now, a Tollywood delegation, headed by Chiranjeevi is set to meet with the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and discuss the ticket pricing issue.
Exhibitors in Andhra Pradesh who are already severely impacted due to Covid are now awaiting Jagan’s response on ticket pricing system.
If the government permits flexible pricing, it would help distributors, exhibitors and the Telugu film industry as a whole. So, all eyes are now on the meeting between Tollywood delegation and YS Jagan.
Meanwhile, quite a few Telugu high-profile projects are gearing up for release from this August if things fall into place and the conditions favour new theatrical releases.
