Identifying Kodela Siva Prasad as A3, the Guntur police have filed a case against him.
During the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh, Kodela who is contesting from Satthenapalli as a TDP candidate, has reached out to the polling station and walked straight into the booth and closed the doors.
Aggrieved over this, the YSRCP activists have created hullabaloo around which made the TDP activists involve in fight with them. The issue has disturbed the polling environment around and even the polling had to be stopped till the enough security has been gathered. Even Kodela was injured during the incident. The police officials who reached out to the venue, have arrested all the YSRCP activists involved in it.
The YSRCP leaders have complained the issue to the Election Commission and even came up with the fact finding committee under the leadership of Botsa Satyanarayana. Adding to it, even the YSRCP Chief Jagan Mohan Reddy has detailed the entire scene to the Governor ESL Narasimhan, after the duo met today at Raj Bhavan in Hyderabad.
The case then moved forward and after detailed verification, the police officials have then decided to file the case against Kodela along with 22 other TDP activists, who were at the venue, on the polling day. The police have considered Kodela as A3 and mentioned in FIR, that the arrest was due to his attempt to take the polling booth into his possession on the polling day.
In 2014 elections, Kodela contested from Satthenapalli constituency from TDP. As Naidu’s party won in the election, Kodela managed to occupy the speaker’s seat. During his reign as a speaker, he faced the allegations from the YSRCP that he is in favor of TDP, even though a speaker is supposed to be unbiased. Since then, the Jagan’s party leaders, who were waiting for the right chance, has finally managed to get Kodela booked now, the analysts opine.
