A former minister who wanted to get married for the sixth time has been booked by the police based on the complaint of his third wife.
As per reports, former Samajwadi Party minister Chaudhary Bashir was preparing to marry for the sixth time. Nagma, who is the third wife of the ex-minister, came to know about this and she approached Bashir, asking him to call off the wedding. But the ex SP minister had not only assaulted her but also divorced her with triple talaq.
In the following suit, Nagma lodged a complaint with the Mantola police station in Agra. Chaudhary Bashir has been booked under Section 3 of the Protection of Rights on Muslim Women’s Marriage Act, 2019 and Section 504 of the IPC.
Shockingly, the minister’s third wife also alleged that Mr Bashir is fond of molesting women. She was married to him in 2012. Nagma also said that she was tortured physically and mentally and even forced to have physical relations forcibly.
A similar case has been registered against him in the past. He spent 23 days in jail. Bashir had previously served as a minister in the Samajwadi Party government. He left SP later and his present status in politics is not known.
