Tesla CEO Elon Musk has been in the headlines ever since he completed his whopping $44 billion deal to acquire the social media giant ‘Twitter’.
Ever since Musk took over the charge of the micro-blogging site, it is heard that he will charge some amount to give the blue ticks to the verified accounts of the users.
In this context, the multi-billionaire announced on Tuesday that people will be able to get a blue tick by paying 8 USD per month.
Taking to Twitter, Musk wrote on the microblogging site, “Twitter’s current lords & peasants system for who has or doesn’t have a blue checkmark is bullshit. Power to the people! Blue for $8/month.”
The sole director of Twitter added that the prices will be adjusted as per a country’s purchasing power parity. He also added that people with blue ticks will have multiple benefits, which include, “priority in replies, mentions and search, which is essential to defeat spam/scam, the ability to post long video and audio and half as many ads”.
