The incident occurred during a sequence that involved unchaining five elephants to cross a road. The confrontation began when one elephant, named Manikandan, attacked another named Puthuppally Sadhu. Following this, Sadhu fled into the forest.
The area where filming took place is part of the Malayattoor Forest Division, known for its wild elephant population. Forest officials noted that if a domesticated elephant encounters wild ones, it could lead to unpredictable situations. Various teams, including forest guards are conducting searches under the leadership of local officials to find the missing elephant.
