The Enforcement Directorate has issued fresh summons to Congress President Sonia Gandhi in the alleged money laundering case connected to the National Herald newspaper.
The ED directed the national leader to appear before the investigating agency on July 21.
Sonia Gandhi was earlier summoned to appear before ED on June 23. However, she could not keep the date as she was strictly advised to rest at home following her hospitalisation on account of Coronavirus and a lung infection.
On the other side, Rahul Gandhi, Sonia’s son, was earlier grilled by the ED for five days and they recorded his statement under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
