The Election Commission has started to pursue the Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy case very seriously and he is likely to face adequate legal action for the same.
The Chief Electoral Officer said that ECI termed the EVM vandalism as a “shameful act” and assured that strict action would be taken. “We have started an investigation into the vandalism incidents. Even if EVMs are destroyed, the data remains safe. The events were observed through webcasting, and evidence has been handed over to the police,” Meena stated.
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) is currently leading the probe, with the police providing all necessary details. Seven special teams have been dispatched to Hyderabad to locate Reddy and his associates, with instructions for immediate arrest issued by the Chief Electoral Officer.
“The accused are expected to be arrested soon,” Meena assured, emphasizing the commitment to upholding the integrity of the electoral process. The police have already added Reddy as an accused in the FIR.
