Dubbaka by-polls came as a shocker to the ruling TRS in Telangana and the BJP has proved their mettle who have been invisibly strong in some major parts of the state. In that sense, the saffron party is starting to tighten its grip in Dubbaka and now they have started to get free from the clutches of the TRS slowly.
This is all about BJP MLA Raghunandan Rao, who tasted defeat for the first time for the ruling TRS party in Telangana in the recent Dubbaka Assembly elections in Telangana approaching the High Court over the Siddipet incident. MLA has filed a petition seeking quashing of the FIR registered in Siddipet.
Raghunandan Rao has stated in the petition that he was accused of being involved in the scam as he got Rs 18 lakh is just a conspiracy for the sake of the elections. MLA Raghanandan’s petition to Justice Laxman Bench suggested that the CJ tribunal should hear criminal cases against MLA Raghu. Justice Laxman directed the registry to transfer the case to the Chief Justice.
It is known that the Police conducted searches during the Dubbaka by-election. Raghunandan Rao’s uncle Anjan Rao was searched the house during the search. Police Commissioner Joel Davis said Rs 18.67 lakh was seized from Anjanrao’s house. Raghunandan’s followers allegedly stole Rs 12.80 lakh.
Joel Davis said 30 people have been identified and cases will be registered against them. However, the BJP ranks alleged that the money was brought by the police and found there. TRS campaigned that all the money was from Raghunandan.
