Vijay Devarakonda, who anticipated big with Dear Comrade, had to face a disappointment, as the film failed to reach the expectations.
Now keeping aside the love stories, the Arjun Reddy star is keen to feature in an out and out mass film. Regarding this, he recently met director Puri Jagannadh at his ‘Cave’ in Hyderabad.
Initially, there were rumors that iSmart Shankar was written keeping Vijay Devarakonda in mind. As the director was with handful of flops, the young hero could not give his nod to the director. But, as iSmart Shankar has managed to become a good hit, Vijay is planning to convince Puri for the second installment of the film.
It is known that Puri, in a conversation with RGV, has revealed that he already registered the title “Double iSmart”. It should be seen whether Puri considers making the sequel with Vijay or move on with Ram Pothineni again, who is also keen to sign another film with the director.

It was after very long that an out and out mass film like iSmart Shankar was able to register success in Tollywood. Ram’s energy levels in the film, were highly appreciated and many considered that it would be tough to match him. At this point of time, it would be better for Vijay Devarakonda, to stay away from the sequel, as it would lead to unnecessary comparisons with the Kandireega star.
