Ivana Trump, the first wife of former United States President Donald Trump, died at age 73.
The former US President announced this on Thursday. However, he did not reveal the cause of her death.
“I am very saddened to inform all of those that loved her, of which there are many, that Ivana Trump has passed away at her home in New York City,” Trump said in a post on the social media platform Truth Social.
“Ivana Trump was a survivor. She fled from communism and embraced this country. She taught her children about grit and toughness, compassion and determination,” the Trump family said in a statement.
Notably, Ivana helped the former ruler of the US build some of his signature buildings, including the Trump Tower.
Ivana Trump was a model. In 1977, she married Trump, who was then a real estate developer. Donald Jr. was born the same year after the couple got married. Then Ivanka was born in 1981 and Eric in 1984. They got divorced in 1993. After that, Trump married Marla Maples for the second time. He broke up with her in 1999 and married Melania Trump for the third time in 2005.
