After the COVID-19 pandemic, a number of fake news are being spread in social media and there is this thing on top of everything. There are reports apparently which say that Aarogya Setu on detecting a Covid-19 positive person nearby will sound out a loud alarm. The siren is played when the app alerts the user that a Covid-19 person is nearby.
Then, immediately the government of India tweeted ruling out the possibilities of a siren alert from this government application saying that “The Aarogya Setu app does not have an in-built siren. It gives out alerts.”
So, they appealed all the people to stay away from the fake news as it is really bad for health. This GPS co-ordinate application collects the details of an individual citizen and tracks his location to advise about his vulnerability of the virus and often it suggests visiting the doctor in case of the emergence of the COVID-19 symptoms.
If the user approaches someone who is Covid-19 positive, they will be alerted about it but there won’t be any siren from the mobile. This will however require the other person to be registered on the Aarogya Setu app. Users can also check within different location radius if there are Covid-19 cases around them.
