Former Union minister and DMK Lok Sabha MP A Raja on Monday apologised for his vulgar personal remarks against Chief Minister K. Palaniswamy and his mother.
While campaigning at Chepauk-Thiruvallikeni from where Udhayanidhi Stalin is contesting, Raja had compared his leader Stalin with the chief minister and passed some disturbing comments.
Raja’s remarks didn’t go well with the people of the state as they sparked controversy. After his statements went viral, he apologised to the CM saying his speech was not a personal attack but was a comparison of two leaders of their public life.
“I was saddened to know that the CM was deeply hurt due to my remarks. I apologise for my remarks,” he said.
Meanwhile, CM Edappadi K Palanisamy broke down for Raja’s comments. During a campaign, the CM asked if this was the remarks made against a CM of the state, what would be the position of women in the state.
