The Transport Department announced that all Driving Licence Testing Centres, registering authorities, vehicle testing stations and driving schools, will resume their services from 1st June.
All centres must follow measures by adhering to social distancing. The recommencing of these services will follow strict hygiene, disinfection control and sanitizing measures required to curb the covid-19 transmission.
Deputy Transport Commissioner(DTC) S Venkateswara Rao on Tuesday stated that the issuance of LLR (learning license registration) and DL(Driving license) through the biometric system was subjected to abeyance in view of covid-19. Transport Commissioner PSR Anjaneyulu has given directives to the DTCs in the State to enforce issuance of driving licences post the lockdown 4.0 on May 31.
In Krishna district, the services will continue in the RTO jurisdictions of Vijayawada, Gudivada, Nandigama, Machilipatnam, Nuzvid, Vuyyur and Jaggaiahpet.
Comprehending further, Rao said, the applicants who want to acquire LLR and DL from the department can enrol their names by slot booking on www.aptransport.org. Those who booked before the lockdown and couldn’t show up, were told to attend driving tests on other dates.
He said owing to Covid-19, certain regulations are being followed and only one person will be allowed into the office for driving licenses tests. Everybody has to cooperate because the large number of people are vulnerable of catching the disease.
