A case has been registered against 40 celebrities at the Sabzi Mandi Police Station in Delhi in connection with the ‘Disha’ murder case that created a sensation in Shamshabad two years ago.
The police registered an FIR under Section 228A of the IPC and issued a warrant following a complaint lodged by lawyer Gaurav Gulati. The celebrities were booked for using the real name of the victim on social media when the incident took place. As per the law, it is unethical to use the real name of rape victims in media or any public platform.
But several celebrities like Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Anupam Kher, Farhan Akhtar, Ravi Teja, Rakul Preet Singh, Allu Sirish, Charmme Kaur, Hansika Motwani, Priya Malik, Yami Gautam, Richa Chadda, Kajal Agarwal, Shabana Azmi, director Sandeep Reddy, Armaan Malik, Sai Dharam Tej, cricketers Harbhajan Singh, Shikhar Dhawan, star Shetler Saina Nehwal and others are among the names who used the real name of the victim while tweeting about the incident.
In the complaint, the Delhi based lawyer said that all the accused should be punished as they forgot their moral ethics with no social responsibility.
