The ongoing controversy involving Deepika Padukone’s exit from the film Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, took another turn with actress Tamannaah Bhatia being drawn into the narrative.
A viral video featuring Deepika sparked online speculation after it appeared that Tamannaah had ‘liked’ the post, leading many to believe she was publicly supporting Deepika.
Addressing the rumours, Tamannaah responded through her Instagram stories, stating clearly that she never interacted with the video and dismissed the reports as baseless. She emphasized that she wasn’t taking sides in the issue.
The video in question was from a 2020 press conference during promotions of Chhapaak, where Deepika responded sharply to a gender-based query about her husband Ranveer Singh’s involvement in the film’s funding.
Deepika reportedly exited Spirit due to disagreements regarding the shooting schedule and revised payment terms. Soon after her departure, the makers announced that Animal actress Triptii Dimri would replace her.
