Jr NTR’s latest film Devara has sparked discussions about its storyline, especially the difference in quality between the first and second halves. On Day 1, many viewers praised the first half for being exciting and engaging, but felt that the second half did not maintain the same level of thrill.
Initially, director Koratala Siva had planned for the first half, focusing on Jr NTR’s character Vara and Janhvi Kapoor’s glamour, to build up the story before transitioning to the main narrative about Devara. However, after comparing the structure to films like Baasha, Siva changed his approach.
If Devara had kept its original structure, with the current first half positioned as the second half, it might have delivered a stronger impact. Films like Salaar and Pushpa faced similar criticism but succeeded because of their thrilling second halves. Many believe that sticking to the original plan could have elevated the film’s overall success.
