It is a known fact that the ruling YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) in Andhra Pradesh is making all efforts to make Visakhapatnam the executive capital of the State. Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has been facing legal challenges in implementing his decentralisation idea after the court raised many objections to it.
Amid this backdrop, Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao has made interesting comments on the capital of the state. He demanded that Visakhapatnam should be made the capital, otherwise it should be declared as a new state. He said that all the revenue in the united state was spent on Hyderabad and after partition, the new state lost everything. “If that mistake is repeated, the region will have to remain backward for another 70 years,” he said.
