Another day and another loss for Rajasthan Royals. Just like Punjab, the Royals are unable to find any way to win games. It was again a poor batting performance which had cost them tonight’s game against Delhi Capitals. Royals have lost the match by 46 runs. Shimron Hetmyer (45) shined for DC by scoring well and also by taking three catches. On the bowling front, Kagiso Rabada (3/35) once again does the job for Delhi. For RR, only Rahul Tewatia (38) and Jofra Archer (3/24) gave a decent performance.
Rajasthan Royals captain Steve Smith chose to bowl after winning the toss. He got the start he wanted to get as Rajasthan managed to scalp the wickets of Prithvi Shaw, Dhawan and Shreyas Iyer inside the power play. However, Delhi batsmen managed to keep the run rate around 9. Even Rishab Pant failed to make any impact. It was Marcus Stoinis and Shimron Hetmyer who did well in the middle overs. In the death overs, Harshal Patel and Axar Patel have scored some boundaries. By the end of 20 overs, Delhi scored 184/8.
While chasing this total, Rajasthan got an early blow as Jos Buttler went back to the pavilion right in the second over of the innings. Later, Steve Smith and Yashaswi Jaiswal tried to create a big partnership. Alas, it couldn’t last long as Smith fell in the ninth over. Sanju Samson, Mahipal Lomror, and Jaiswal as well got out in no time. After that, everyone was pretty sure about Rajasthan’s defeat. Rahul Tewatia tried to score but by that time, the match was already slipped from RR’s hands. Finally, they managed to complete the game by scoring 138/10 in 19.4 overs.
