Vijay Deverakonda’s highly anticipated film ‘Liger’, which was released on Thursday worldwide, has failed to impress the critics and audience alike. The makers excessively hyped the movie with massive promotional campaigns all across the country, but the response to the Puri Jagannadh directorial in markets has been below par.
As per the numbers circulating on the internet, here is the first-day collections of Liger in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Nizam: 4.24Cr
Ceeded: 1.32Cr
UA: 1.27Cr
East: 64L
West: 39L
Guntur: 83L(31L Hires)
Krishna: 48L
Nellore: 40L(12L Hires)
Andhra Pradesh – Telangana Total:- Rs 9.57CR (15.40CR~ Gross)
As per the trade reports, the film’s pre-release business, including all versions, is done for nearly Rs 90 crore. Hence, it should collect over Rs 90 crore worldwide share to be a clean hit. However, going by the response of the audience on the first day, Liger has a tough path ahead at the box office.
It is worth mentioning that the above collections were not officially announced, but they are widely circulating on the internet. There could be chances that Liger collected even less than the mentioned amount, as some producers in the past revealed that the movie teams announce higher collections to get a good impression among the audience and lure them to theatres. One thing that is evident is that with negative talk and such less share on Day 1, it may be quite hard for the makers to collect their investment in the movie. It remains to be seen how the movie will perform during the weekend.
