Nandamuri Balakrishna has been in fine from in recent times with consecutive hits to his name. He has come up with a new film titled Daku Maharaj now and it has released in theaters today. Let’s have a look at it.
Story:
The movie revolves around the intriguing journey of a civil engineer from the Chambal region, who travels all the way to Andhra Pradesh on a mission to protect a vulnerable young girl. Unforeseen circumstances compel him to adopt the persona of Daaku Maharaj, an enigmatic outlaw. Why he turned into an out law and has he succeeded in protecting the girl is to be seen on the big screen.
On screen performances:
Balakrishna delivers a commendable performance in both roles, he seamlessly blended subtlety with captivating histrionics that truly stand apart from his prior films.Tom Chacko’s character is not fully utilized. Bobby Deol character did well and adequate in his character.
The film has a host of heroines namely Shraddha Srinath, Pragya Jaiswal and Urvashi Rautela in the lead lady roles. Urvasi does not have any substance in the film. Shraddha is the only performer amongst them and she is alright in the film. Pragya has good screen presence in second half and she did good in her role.
Off screen Performances:
Director Bobby earlier delivered blockbuster Waltair Veerayya thanks to Megastar Chiranjeevi and this played in the minds of Nandamuri fans when he announced Daku with Balayya. However, while Veerayya was a packed entertainer with Chiru in full flow, Daku is a serious actioner headlined by Balayya. The story is flat in second half .The interval block is very good.
Thaman has done a fiery job with the background score as the film has a super strong sound design. The BGM is loud for most part but that’s a given for a Balakrishna and Thaman film. The rest of the technical crew is just about alright.
Whats Hot.?
- Bala Krishna’s Subtle Performance and punch lines in first half.
- Thaman’s BGM in first Half
- Cinematography
Whats Not.?
- Boring Second half
2. Weak Climax
Verdict:
Daaku Maharaaj opens strongly, captivating audiences with an engaging first half supported by Thaman’s impactful background score, which enhances the mass appeal of key scenes. However, the film falters in the second half, losing its momentum as the narrative becomes predictable and drawn-out. Bobby’s writing fails to deliver compelling high points, and the climax leaves much to be desired. While Bala Krishna’s subtle performance and Thaman’s exceptional score in the first half stand out, the movie as a whole struggles to rise above mediocrity due to its underwhelming latter half.
