The Andhra Pradesh High Court very much made it clear that Amaravati is the sole capital of Andhra Pradesh and that developmental works of the state capital should be taken up very soon by the government, and that even a report of the same should be submitted to the HC as well. However, the AP government very famously spoke against this ruling, with Chief Minsiter YS Jagan Mohan Reddy very famously telling in the assembly that the AP government would continue to develop the three capitals and that it would make it a reality very soon.
Minister Adimulapu Suresh recently revealed some shocking facts about the capital issue of AP, saying that crucial things regarding the 3 capitals would take place from after August 15th, something that no one would anticipate. He also said that he’s saying all of this very unofficially, given that he can’t make any official statements about the same. He also added that big companies and SEZs are coming to Kurnool very soon.
Considering the minister’s statements and the fact that the AP HC’s ruling is vastly different from what the AP government seems to have in mind, it is to be seen how things will move forward and if this will turn out to be another empty and futile attempt like the many attempts the Jagan government made so far, regarding the shifting of capitals.
