The Karimnagar munsif magistrate court on Wednesday ordered to register a case against former IPS Dr RS Praveen Kumar. This criminal case in Karimnagar district has been registered a day after he took voluntary retirement from the government service.
On March 16, local advocate Bethi Mahender Reddy lodged a complaint against Praveen Kumar alleging that he had insulted Hindu deities through vows. It is alleged that Swaero organisation made derogatory remarks during the Buddha Vandanam at Dhulikatta in Peddapalli district.
In this context, the judge issued directions to the Karimnagar Town III police to register a case against ex-IPS officer Dr RS Praveen Kumar.
It is learned that Praveen Kumar, who was the secretary of the Gurukul Society, had written a letter to the government seeking voluntary retirement. In this order, the Telangana government, which responded positively, revealed him from duties on Tuesday.
