Cricket is coming back to the Olympics after 128 years. This is confirmed by The International Olympic Committee which announced that cricket will be part of the 2028 Los Angeles Games.
While there will not be too many countries participating, it is being said that Six teams will compete in both men’s and women’s T20 cricket tournaments, with 90 players in each. The USA, as the host nation, might get automatic entry.
It will be tough for teams to make it to the final six spots as T20 cricket is played in over 100 countries. Fans are excited, especially in India, hoping for at least two medals.
Besides cricket, other sports like squash, flag football, baseball/softball, and lacrosse have also been added to the LA Olympics. The LA Games will include 351 medal events, 22 more than the Paris Olympics.
