CPI national secretary Narayana met Swami Swaroopananda in Visakhapatnam while campaigning on behalf of GVMC 97th Ward CPI candidate Yashoda.
Narayana campaigned in support of the candidates contesting Visakhapatnam on behalf of the CPI. He campaigned in the 97th Ward where Sri Sarada Peetham is located. As a part of the campaign, Narayana asked Swami to bless his party’s candidate.
While speaking to the media, Narayana said there is a belief among the people that they would win if they took the blessings from Swami. Narayana also explained that there was no political angle in this.
As of Tuesday, 1,361 nominations were filed for 98 wards under GVMC. Of these, 99 nominations were rejected by the authorities due to non-compliance with the regulations. This leaves only 1,262 left.
Of these, 361 are TDP candidates, 342 are YCP candidates, 106 are from Janasena, 80 from Congress, 74 from BJP, 35 from CPM, 16 from CPI, nine from BSP and 237 from Independents.
