Hyderabad: Walkers and joggers are being restricted near waterside parks at Jubilee hills KBR park, Himayatsagar, and Osmansagar lakes in the city. Visitors who paid visit to the lakes in the last couple of weeks for picnic and family get together meets have been suggested to opt other spots as the places are remained closed.
Md Farooq, a canteen owner near the Jalamandali Park maintained by the HMWS&SB spoke to a news channel saying that he sees no hope after seeing it closed for eight months. “At least 400 people visited this park daily and on weekends, we had 800-1,000 visitors.”
Recently the high court judge commanded KBR park authorities to reply to the petition filed by taekwondo master M Jayant Reddy, who questioned the inaction of forest department for not opening the park.
Apparently revellers visit parks to get some healing and relief from the fresh air and medicinal herbs. However many parks are following the strategy of continue closure despite unlock phase-5.
Officials reported that parks are continued to be closed owing to the pandemic. Police are still deployed near Himayatsagar and are disallowing visitors from going near the reservoir for security purposes. Deputy General Manager of HMWS&SB says that they have not recieved any notice from the higher authority to open the parks or the gates of the reservoir.
